Why are images blurry?
By default, detailed flyover images are disabled, due to load time and file size considerations. Basically there are 2 sets of flyover images that differ in quality. Enable the set and you will see clear images.
Why my monitor screen is showing the message “Invalid Image format” when the flyover image is being loaded?
The message “Invalid image format” might mislead you. Before displaying the image, Google Earth checks your system resources and available disk space in the system's memory caches. If the settings of your computer do not allow Google Earth to load all this information, then Google Earth sends a message that you are trying to load an image that has an “Invalid Image Format”. To fix this problem, ensure that your computer meets all system requirements.

NASA World Wind is an amazing software that allows you to zoom from high satellite altitude into any location on planet Earth. Therefore, if you wish to see earth terrain in rich 3D then you must install this software on your machine. You will feel as if you are present there. It is very easy to download and use the software. For reducing the size of initial download, Blue Marble imagery is eliminated from the installer. The imagery will download as you start using NASA World Wind.

Ability to draw on the maps: A location finder with which you can find out location of a particular use.
Integrated calculation of routes: Street level photos in some cities. You can view these photos by having a walk or driving a race or sports car. However, note that this feature is available through a separate tech preview site.
History: Live Search Maps is based on the Microsoft technologies like Microsoft MapPoint and TerraServer.
At the time of release it did not had the features like bird’s eye views and 3D maps. The collections functionality also was limited. Users got only one Scratchpad of points of interest.

Once you can download the Virtual Earth 3D beta version you can use it. You can also control the views and make them appear, as you would like them to. If your computer or internet connection is slower than required, it may affect the download time. In such case, you can reduce the resolution of the images. This will ultimately reduce the download time as well and therefore you would e able to download the images much faster.
One more thing that can reduce the downloading time is choosing not to show computer generated images of buildings. These can appear when you are viewing buildings and similar objects in 3D. The procedure for doing so is as given below.

Does NASA World Wind provide real time images?
The server sends imagery to its users by compressing it from gigabytes to many hundred megabytes. Even after the images are compressed to several hundred megabytes, the bandwidth needed for the server will be quite large. Even if this task is achieved somehow, the internet connection of most users is not that fast to update data every hour. However for MODIS, Global Clouds are frequently updated, hence they can be referred as real time images.

Most land areas in Google Earth are covered in high quality satellite imagery that has a resolution of 15 m per pixel. You will find that some population centers are covered using ortho photography (aircraft imagery) with many pixels per meter. Oceans (water bodies) and islands are covered at a lower resolution. Islands off southwest England are covered at a resolution of 500 meters or less.

Tags and tagging
whenever anybody searches the local listing center for collections, users can search using some keyword. Therefore it is important to tag your collection with appropriate keyword which you think would be used by others during searching for a collection.
You collection will be easy to search for others if you tag it with a tag that describes it. For example if you create collection about hotels, you can tag it with. The procedure for adding tags to your collection is given below.

We are not the company "Google" which is a registered trademark. We are a non affiliated 3rd party who is providing no cost tips, advice and troubleshooting for various software included in the "Google Software Pack".
I highly recommend the Google Software Pack. It comes with a lot of great software that is all FREE. You can also pick and choose which of the software products you want to download. You don't have to download them all. If you have a Mac or you don't want the Google Software Pack for some reason you can download it directly from the main site.
