Places in google earth
If you know how to mark places on earth then you can learn how to organize places data, how to save places data, how to delete places data and how to show and hide places data. First we will discuss about how we can organize saved data in the places panel. Organizing saved data into places panel is same as the organizing files on the hard drive of your computer.
Organizing places data includes following tasks:
Creating folders
Reordering folders
Renaming a folder
Removing a folder
Now we will discuss about how to create folders. You can create folders and you can also move some folders, shapes and placemarks. For creating folder first you have to right click on the folder from places panel. After this from pop-up menu select Add> folder. When you will right click on this folder there appears new folder. When new folder dialog box appears, you should fill the fields, which are given below
Name: Put the name here.
p>Description: You have to insert a description for your folder.Style/color: when your new folder has some new icons then you can use style/color feature. By making use of this feature, you can apply icon and label styles for the items of your folder.
View: when you will complete the process of setting a view for your folder then double click on folder; it repositions the three dimension viewer to the position which you have selected.
Now we will discuss about how to rename a folder. To rename a folder first right click on folder and then select rename option. In the name field, insert the new name that you want. There is another way to rename you folder by choosing the rename option from the edit menu and the other way for renaming your folder is selecting the folder and then press F2 key from your keyboard.
Now we will discuss bout how to remove a folder. In order to remove folder first right click on a folder and then select delete option. Now we will discuss about how to open saved placemarks on our computer’s hard drive. For doing this first you have to select open from file menu. Now go to the folder which includes KMZ or KML information which you wish to open in google earth. After that you must select the file and then click on open button and you will see that the folder appears beneath the folder of temporary places. Now locate the file which you wish to open. When you will complete the process of locating file in your computer then dragging and dropping KMZ file over the 3D viewer is possible.
There are various ways for deleting places data from places panel. For deleting the places data from places panel you have to just right click on folder and then select the delete option from pop-up menu. You are also able to delete items from 3D viewer just with right click on icon and then select the delete option from pop-up menu.
