The procedure for downloading and installing Google Earth on Linux machines is as follows.

a) Access the download page of Google Earth.

b) Then click on the “Linux” radio button which is present under the category Beta (Version 4), and choose “Download Google Earth”.

c) Open the terminal window/ console and then go to your default downloads directory. There type the following command. :> sh GoogleEarthLinux.bin

d) Then you will be guided step by step over the further procedure for installation. The preset location for this program is “/usr/local/google/google-earth”. If you install Google Earth in its preset position, you will be able to launch it with the following command: > /usr/loccal/google/google-earth/googleearth

How to log in if I am being prompted to chose a server?

If you are being prompted for choosing to enter the server of your choice, it is possible for you to choose the database which you want to view in the in the initial Google Earth- Select Server” window.

However if you already chosen a server or automatically have enabled some server to log you in, you can change the it by the following steps.

a) Once you have logged in Google Earth, change File.

b) Then choose the option to “Logout.”

c) then choose “Login”.

d) Then lastly choose the server which you want to use. The options are displayed in the form of a drop down menu.
