Instead of typing the start and end for your journey, you can also just directly right click on the map on which you will get the options Drive from and Drive to.

Moreover, note that the traffic data is not available for all the routes.

Viewing current traffic conditions

The current traffic conditions are provided by live search maps for most of the metropolitan areas. In case data is available for particular location the live search, maps will update the traffic conditions whenever you move the map. Ideally, the live search maps updates the traffic conditions every few minutes.

The procedure for getting the current traffic condition is as follows.

Access the live search maps. Go to a desired location. Then on the view control choose the option ‘Traffic’.

Some important notes regarding viewing the traffic conditions

The traffic conditions are not available for the birds eye view if you are viewing them in 2D.

In addition, it is important to note that live search maps cannot display the traffic conditions if you zoom far too in or out of the maps.

Moreover, if your computer has been ideal for at least 30 minutes, you may not be able to view the traffic conditions. Therefore, in such a situation refresh the internet browser. If this also does not help, then there can be a temporary problem with the retrieving of traffic information. Hence, you will have to try for it later.

Getting the public transit directions

If you mention the start and end live search maps would provide you a route map with systematic directions for the public transit route that can the best fit into you schedule. The start and end that you enter can be the names of street, locations, landmarks, neighborhoods, or the points on the map.

The procedure for getting the public transit directions is as given below.

a) Access the live search maps.

b) Choose the option Public transit, which is present in the upper right corner of the page.

c) You can choose the start people by any of the following options.

You can type the start in the ‘From’ box,

Or you can right click directly on the map and then from the options you can choose ‘Transit direction from here’.

d) Then you can choose the end by one of the following options.

You can enter the end in the ‘To’ box, or

You can right click on the map and then from the options choose ‘Transit to here’.

e) After entering the start and end, you can choose whether you want the route with the ‘Fewest transfer’ or the ‘Shortest time’. After this, choose ‘Get directions’.
