World wind add-ons
Add-ons are new features of world wind. These add-ons are not created by NASA. You can use thee add-ons for viewing other planets, get the routes and zoom into areas which are not included in NASA data. Now we will discuss each add-on in detail way.
2005 NASCAR Tracks: With the help of this add-on we can see 2005 NASCAR tacks and it has one toolbar icon.
Apollo landings: This add-on shows all the Apollo landings and also shows some impact sites.
Arch Atlas: This is one of the experimental add-on which links world wind to ArchAtlas archaeological atlas website. This add-on contains sites from satellites database.
Atlantic rowing race 2005 boat tracker plug-in: This plug-in tracks the teams that are participating at this years challenge and shows us their progress in world wind. If you want to make use of this plug-in, first you must go to plug-ins menu and then click on Load/Unload option. After this click on “Atlantic rowing race” from load/unload window, then press on load button and the indicator which is placed near to Atlantic rowing race should turn into green and only after that you are able to close the load/unload window. After completing this process you are able to see the icon of Atlantic Rowing icon in the toolbar of world wind.
Baselga- Trentino- Italy: with the help of this add-on you can see rich imagery of touristic area called Altopiano di pine’ e Valle di Cembra.
Country boundaries set: This add-on consists of layer, which shows all country boundaries.
DYNAGIS: Golden pearl: This add-on inserts new data and visualizations into NASA world wind, permitting it for functioning as an interactive 3D atlas. Combined viewing of various data sets permits you for analyzing and comparing data for all the countries in quick and easy way.
EROS Ortho Imagery: Terraserver provides the USGS Urban Area imagery to WW. But this imagery is not up to date. So this add-on includes all the latest urban areas and markers through which you are able to find the cities in easy way.
Earth No-Water add-on: This add-on displays the earth without water. New versions of world wind have already added this add-on.
Fixed radars add-on: This add-on displays the fixed road radars.
France scan and TeleAtlas: With the help of this add-on viewing France scan and TeleAtlas map in world wind is possible.
GPS2worldwind: With the help of this add-on you are able to do various things like creating and displaying routes, waypoints and tracks. You can also transfer routes, tracks and waypoints in your Garmin GPS device. Importing waypoints, tracks and routes from google map or GPX, PCX5, Oz is possible. Online GPS displays latest position and direction in WW. Bitmap files like JPEG, TIFF, GIF, and PNG can be displayed as maps within world wind.
GRDC and GTN-R station markers: This add-on permits you for exploring GRDC stations.
Global poverty: This add-on displays the global division of infant malnutrition and mortality.
IGE marks: This plug-in is very easy to use for adding your own placemarks for world wind.
