World Wind NASA over Google earth
NASA released World Wind after Google earth was launched. Though, both these applications look alike, but they were developed by keeping different intentions in mind. If you take a closer look of both these applications, you will come to know the difference. Few features set them apart from each other. Main difference you will come to know instantly is the quality of World Wind’s satellite imagery. Moreover, it reveals earth in different perspectives as it has a variety of maps. Earth is exposed with blue marble, which is the true color of earth and Landsat gives high resolution. Moreover, MODIS displays relevant and important local information like fires, earthquakes, floods etc. User can observer snowy peaks and browse over mountains. It shows different colors of rocks which is in incredible.
The lower you go; you will be discovering different truths about our earth. As it provides such detailed information it requires more time than Google earth to process any image. World wind NASA has different digital search options. There is a search tool box located at the upper left corner where you can specify the destination you want to visit. Just type the name of location in the search box. Landmarks given in World Wind NASA are better catalogued than Google earth. You can select landmark finder tool which you will find at the top of the web page. The application also gives small tags for each location to consider significance, if users misspell any location name. You just need to click on this tag and automatically user is directed to that particular landmark with wikipedia page.
Another asset of the application is its usability which no other mapping application offers. You can use rollover button with World Wind NASA to skim the different parts of the webpage. The more users focus down the place the more significant locations he will be able to view with pop-ups. If you keep all the layers on, then it may clog up the screen. Therefore, just turn off few layers which are not required and make wise configuration. You will be able to see the only information you need by avoiding confusion. People find it amazing, looking at the country borders which you may not get to see. This application provides two original tools which are not present in Google earth or any other map-based web application. User can capitalize lunar explorations and it lets user view moon with extremely high definition.
